Domestic abuse survivors are the most brave, bold, and amazing people out there. Domestic abuse is terribly difficult to go through, and the aftermath can result in damage to the survivor. Whether the wounds caused by the abuse are PTSD, anxiety, or depression, it can really harm the survivor in so many ways. The fact that a month is dedicated for domestic abuse awareness means the world to so many survivors.
SMCC held a candlelight vigil for domestic abuse survivors in front of the student center on October 25. The beautiful candles shined for those who have endured so much pain and hardship. These candles showed so much respect for these survivors, and the people who attended did as well.
